Advanced hydrogen gas detection system featuring 316 stainless steel construction for superior corrosion resistance. This electrochemical detector is rated IP66/IP68 for harsh environments and offers optional relays and wireless connectivity.

Product Description

The SG100-S is a cost-effective, IECEx/ATEX certified fixed gas detector from the SG100 series, designed for continuous monitoring of toxic gases, oxygen, flammable gases and VOC. It offers both 2-wire and 3-wire 4-20mA analog output, RS485 Modbus, and optional HART output, making it compatible with most control systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA). Optional wireless data transmission (LoRa/4G) allows remote data review and download.

For hydrogen (H₂) monitoring, the SG100-S uses an electrochemical sensor with selectable measuring ranges of 0–1000 ppm, 0–2000 ppm or 0–5000 ppm and a resolution of 1 ppm. Accuracy is ≤ ±2-5% FS (sensor dependent).

About H₂ (Hydrogen)

Hydrogen is a colourless, odourless, highly flammable gas. It is widely used in petroleum refining, chemical production (ammonia, methanol), semiconductor manufacturing, and as a clean energy carrier in fuel cells. The gas has a wide explosive range (4-75% VOL in air) and is difficult to detect by human senses, making continuous monitoring essential for safety. Hydrogen also displaces oxygen in confined spaces, posing an asphyxiation hazard. Reliable hydrogen detection is critical in refineries, chemical plants, battery rooms, and hydrogen production/storage facilities.
